Meet the Team

Malcolm Hunt - Fishery Manager

Having broken away from the family tradition of game keeping, Malcolm became involved in the fish industry. He then started working part time at a trout fishery in Dorset at the age of 12 and in his spare time was working at a restocking trout farm.

During his three years at Sparsholt college in fisheries/farming management he gained experience working on the river Test, EA, Salmon/carp and trout farming throughout the UK. He then moved to Wales to work at a 100 tonne+ intensive table trout farm for a couple of years. His progression took him to manage a 200 tonne site in Salisbury in 1997. He then spent 11 years helping raise the production to nearly 400 tonnes while developing a onsite carp/koi hatchery. The Director of the company acquired Manningford Trout Fishery in 2004 and in 2008 Malcolm took over as the fishery manager. Since then Malcolm has taken the fishery from strength to strength seeing through the build of the Fishery lodge, opening up 2.5 miles of the upper River Avon and successfully opening Squires Lake.

Time off for Malcolm now consists of fly fishing and can be found on local small waters and rivers fishing for Grayling, wild Brown Trout and specimen doubles. He is currently sits on the council for the STFA (Stillwater Trout Fisheries Association) - formerly the ASGFM.
